A bridegroom or often abbreviated to groom is a man who is getting married or has recently married. Many factors influence the bridegroom’s clothing style, including the location of the ceremony, the bride and groom’s ethnic backgrounds, the type of ceremony, and whether the bridegroom is a member of the Armed Forces.

While it is to be expected that wedding and wedding gown trends change frequently, it is also important to remember that groom trends are always changing. It’s exciting to see men become a little bolder and daring in their Wedding fashion sense, from suit styles to different fabrics and colors, with 2021 set to show some seriously attractive groom trends!

Here are the top ten hottest groom trends:

1 | Bespoke Suits and Tailoring

When you hear the word “bespoke,” the words “high-priced” and “luxury” probably come to mind. Bespoke refers to something that is made specifically for you and only you, according to your specifications. The term bespoke is most often associated with men’s professional attire such as suits, tuxedos, sports jackets, and more, though it is not limited to clothing. Every time a garment is made by a skilled cutter, bespoke tailoring uses a pattern that is created individually.

The groom suit is already an investment, and bespoke is the trend for grooms who want to keep their suit. Here are some of the benefits of bespoke suit and tailoring:

  • The two most important factors to consider when purchasing bespoke tailoring are fit and quality. To truly determine if bespoke is right for you, you must first determine what you are looking for, which is why it is becoming increasingly popular among grooms. The groom will leave with a style that is tailored to their body type!
  • Bespoke tailoring produces a one-of-a-kind garment that will never be duplicated, it is 100% made for you and you alone.
  • The bespoke tailored garment is made of the highest quality fabrics from around the world and constructed with the highest quality craftsmanship. Bespoke clothing is designed to last a lifetime. Your bespoke garments will last for 30 years or more if properly maintained.

2 | Pocket Flowers for Suits

A boutonnière, also known as a buttonhole, is a floral decoration worn on the lapel of a tuxedo or suit jacket, typically a single flower or bud. The term boutonnière comes from the French word boutonnière, which means “buttonhole flower.” Choosing a boutonnière made of real flowers has its advantages, which include: Gentlemanly, available on the street in many metropolitan areas, inexpensive, and with a pleasant odor. Wedding flowers include succulents, carnations, roses, tulips, hydrangeas, peonies, and many others.

3 | Mismatched Groomsmen

Groomsmen have recently caught on to the mismatched trends to express their individuality! It’s a great way for the men to express themselves while wearing something they’re comfortable in and already own to save pennies. So here are five of today’s favorite mismatched looks to inspire and excite our groomsmen!

  • Mix and Match Colors
  • Different Shades of the Same Color
  • Top and Bottom Mix and Match
  • Different Styles in the Same Color
  • Play with the Details

4 | Velvet Jackets for Suits

Groom trends are changing and evolving at a faster rate than ever before. Velvet is a trend that has been firmly established over the last few years.  Velvet blazers, which are currently available in rich colors like burgundy, deep navy, and forest green, are worn by real grooms. A velvet blazer is an ideal jacket for when you want a more distinctive look, and it can be worn tux-style and a velvet suit is also a way to wear an eye-catching suit without being too loud.

5 | Bold Colors and Patterns

Choosing a color is not always easy. If you want to break away from the traditional neutral tones and give your groom’s suit a bolder, more dramatic look, take a walk on the wild side of colorful shades. Bold colors are popular and appear to be here to stay. Grooms may want to consider a traditional but more brave suit. Instead of traditional navy, try a bright blue, or a light gray instead of charcoal.

Adding some depth to your closet by purchasing a suit with some patterning. Grooms should think about wearing a suit with a thinly patterned plaid or a simple white-on-grey windowpane check. Patterns look great on any suit color, but they stand out even more when paired with a grey or blue suit.

6 | Three-Piece Suits

A three-piece suit is an excellent investment for your closet. Many men believe that a three-piece suit is required for the groom and groomsmen and that the look is only appropriate for that one occasion. The truth is that a three-piece suit looks great on anyone at a formal event such as a wedding. It’s not only fashionable but also practical. The vest helps you maintain a refined appearance.

A three-piece suit is made up of three parts: a jacket, pants, and waistcoat. As a result, it’s a more formal option than traditional two-piece ensembles. When selecting a three-piece suit, you can choose a matching or contrasting waistcoat. Whatever option you select, your suit must be properly fitted. To accomplish this, ensure that it is well-tailored, with a close-fitting waistcoat and a comfy jacket that can easily button up over the top. Keep in mind that your waistcoat should cover the waistband of your pants without extending too far below.

7 | Double-breasted Jackets

A double-breasted garment is a coat, jacket, or vest with wide, overlapping front flaps and two symmetrical columns of buttons on the front. One column of buttons on most modern double-breasted coats is decorative, while the other is functional. Other buttons on the outside edge of the coat breast enable the overlap to be fastened reversibly, left lapel over right lapel. To strengthen the fastening, a functional inner-button known as the jigger or anchor button is usually added to parallel-fasten the over-lapped layers together from the inside

A double-breasted suit emphasizes the V-shaped silhouette of broad shoulders and narrow waist, which is considered the ideal male shape. Today’s double-breasted blazers are slimmer and more tailored. The armholes are cut higher to create a cleaner look, and the jacket sits close to the body but does not hug. A double-breasted suit retains its elegance while embracing modern minimalism.

8 | Casual Looks for Small and Outdoor Ceremonies

Many couples are choosing to marry outside, and the pandemic has only increased this trend. The goal of a casual wedding is to strike a balance between sophistication and fun. Many couples are choosing to marry outside, and the pandemic has only increased this trend. The goal of a casual wedding is to strike a balance between sophistication and fun. If you and your groom are planning a casual wedding, there are several options for him to look stylish and put together without overdoing it.

The smart casual look is polished but relaxed, straddling the line between overdressed and underdressed. It’s relaxed, but not as relaxed as tracksuit pants and a baggy shirt, and it’s refined, but not as refined as a pinstriped suit. Because it is based on an individual’s tastes, the exact make-up of a smart casual look cannot be precisely defined, but common smart casual clothing for grooms often includes jackets, jumpers, loafers, and shirts with bold colors or prints.

9 | Classic Tuxedo for Evening Weddings

The definition of a tuxedo has evolved, but even the most modern tuxedo has distinguishing characteristics from a suit. The main distinction between a tuxedo and a suit is that tuxedos have satin details, satin is a fabric that is smooth and shiny. A cummerbund, waistcoat, suspenders, and a self-tied bowtie are all traditional tuxedo accessories.

Many men nowadays, however, prefer to wear less formal accessories. With tuxedos, long ties and high-stance vests are now acceptable and white shirts with a wing collar or a turndown collar are worn with tuxedos. Tuxedos are usually worn with black patent shoes and tuxedos are only worn at night and for formal occasions such as black-tie weddings.

10 | Custom Wedding Shoes

You’re not just looking for any old shoe. You want a shoe that symbolizes a significant moment in your life. Do it in a pair of custom-made shoes that will make you feel exactly how you want and deserve as you walk down the aisle to the person you loved most.

There are rules for shoes, even if you don’t realize it! There can’t be any brown with black or any black with blue. It is advisable to have custom-made shoes that are made to match your suit perfectly because your wedding shoes are extremely important.

Weddings are fantastic! And as a groom, it’ll certainly be the happiest day of your life. Your wedding will likely be your first venture, which can be nerve-wracking. Emotions are running high between you and your bride, and balancing the venue, photographer, and any other vendors you’re working with can be stressful.

Men also have a difficult time selecting the ideal wedding attire. The clothes you put on should reflect your personality, the time of day and season, and the overall vibe you want to express. When everyone in your family is trying to have a say, it’s difficult to ensure that the best version of yourself is visible. As challenging as it may appear, you must get it right because days like these only come around once in a lifetime.
